Who is Cynthia Appiah ?

Beyond her incredible athletic achievements, Cynthia is a trailblazer and advocate for diversity in winter sports. Proudly representing her Ghanaian heritage, she’s become a beacon of inspiration for young Black athletes, using her platform to push for greater inclusion and representation in bobsledding—a sport where Black female athletes are still rare.

Off the ice, Cynthia is just as dynamic. A true crime podcast enthusiast and lover of musicals, she’s as likely to be dissecting a case file as she is belting out show tunes. And while the Olympics was a lifelong dream, she’s already set her sights on her next big goal: taking on Jeopardy!

Driven, thoughtful, and unapologetically herself, Cynthia Appiah is a force both on and off the track—breaking barriers and redefining what’s possible.
